Tammy Robiconti

Tammy Robiconti is Bay News 9's Health Team 9 Medical Beat reporter. Her stories on health news and breakthroughs air Monday through Friday at :53 past the hour, starting at 5 p.m.

A Tampa native, Robiconti graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and a minor in speech communication. After working in Tampa as an anchor/reporter for Newsradio 970 WFLA and for Time Warner Cable's local origination station, she moved to Tallahassee's ABC affiliate and spent five years there. While at WTXL, Robiconti co-anchored the station's 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, its sister station's 10 p.m. newscast and was also WTXL's first health reporter.

Robiconti has been honored with several awards for her health and education reports and for her involvement in the community. Since joining the Bay News 9 Special Projects department, Robiconti has been honored with two prestigious Dalton Pen Awards.

For three years she sat on the board for the Florida/Puerto Rico chapter of the American Heart Association. She's chaired an American Heart Walk and vice-chaired another Heart Walk with Florida's First Lady, Columba Bush. Robiconti has also served as spokesperson for Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake events, as well as for the March of Dimes and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Tammy and her husband, James, have a son named Dominic and an Akita named Yoshi.
