I basically got into radio for 2 reasons... Meet girls on the request lines... and to get free records from the radio station!! The 2 things I'm still doing 30 years later!! A true radio "GYPSY".

Started radio while attending the University of Georgia... (Go Dogs)... Worked around Atlanta in the early 70's at the legendary WQXI Atlanta... Moved to Tampa Bay Area October 11, 1975 (WLCY) after graduation from college... AT WLCY till 1979 doing PM drive... Music Director and APD... Brief stint at 96 FEVER (DISCO) then to Miami 1979 -1981 (WINZ-FM & Y-100)... Back to Tampa Bay with appearances at 98 ROCK and 96KX... (WCKX 95.7)

Moved to Houston in 1982 for KKBQ AM & FM... PD there in 1987... Moved to Phoenix in 1989 - Program Director of Power 92... Returned to Houston in 1990 AND back to KKBQ... Program Director for ABC Radio Networks/Dallas 1991 - 1993... Then off to KFRC San Francisco 1993 thru Sept 2001... Once again returned to Houston on 9/11/2001... Program Director KLDE Oldies 107.5 for Cox Radio... Hired "Me" to do mornings!

Now working at WCBS FM New York City where Ron does the night show... OLDIES FORMAT again.

Veteran programmer/air talent and current WCBS-F/NEW YORK personality RON PARKER joins SIRIUS as afternoon host (noon-6p ET) on SIRIUS 7 - TOTALLY '70s, debuting MONDAY (7/7).

PARKER, who has worked at many legendary stations during his career, including WQXI/ATLANTA, KKBQ/HOUSTON and KFRC/SAN FRANCISCO, will continue his regularly scheduled terrestrial radio duties, handling nights at CBS-FM.
