Rolando a.k.a. “The Dirty Little Cuban”

Born in Los Angeles, raised in Los Angeles, Miami & Tampa. Rolando had the opportunity to grow up listening to some of the best radio in the country.

After chickening out of the opportunity to switch the vinyl records for the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 at the Legendary Q-105 at 17, Rolando thought his radio dreams were gone for good. That was until he called Scott Hennen of WDAY 970 AM asking for a chance to provide sound / light equipment for station remotes and Scott asked “wouldn’t you rather be on air”? The rest is history.

It was 1992 in North Dakota, the stations were K-LITE 104.3 FM / 1590 AM KCNN. Weekend overnights were his life with his major responsibility being changing reel to reels of Rush for 5 hours Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. A weeks worth of Rush in 3 nights. Damn!

In 1994 his next move was to Anchorage Alaska. Having lived in Florida most of his life, the military naturally sent him to the 2 coldest places on earth. After 6 years of that torture, a successful night jock, weekend remix show, nightclub DJ & entertainment coordinator stints under his belt Rolando returned to his favorite home on earth (Tampa, Florida) to jump back into radio and take over the world.

8 years later, he has not hosted 1 radio show until now. After giving up attempting to penetrate the Clear Channel no pay, intern riddled, bubble Rolando started doing Stand-Up Comedy in 2002. He still had a lot to say and needed a place to do it. Rolando can be heard weekly on iTunes under the Podcast or BLOG Behind Closed Doors or at Green Iguana Anderson mixing it up Wednesday’s & Friday’s.
