Where Are They Now?

Rock Robbins

Kids growing up in Tampa Bay in the 1960-63 era knew him as Rock Robbins, night time DJ at WLCY. Folks growing up in Detroit knew him as Scott Regen on WKNR and CKLW.

His real name was Robert Bernstein, Brooklyn born rock jock who also spent time at WALT as Robert B.

Bob left Tampa Bay for WFUN, with Dick Starr in Miami in 1963, and the following year he was in Detroit at “KEENER” as they called WKNR.

Perhaps the best known night time DJ of his era in Tampa Bay, fast pace, super tight, and very pleasant to listen to. He was not the “screamer” DJ that was in vogue at the time. He was great at creating characters for his show and during the Beatles era, he was always interviewing them on his program.

Robert is now living in New York City, doing voice over work.
