Pat McKay was a brilliant radio star at Q105 in the late 70s and early 80s. He was one of the main forces behind the early success of the Q.

Pat says "After Tampa, I was PD at KBEQ, Kansas City for a couple of years, then OD at WZOU in Boston. After Boston, I got the chance to work with Scott Shannon again, doing both mid-days and afternoons at Z100 in New York. Scott treated me quite well, as I was going through a hard time with the death of my Father.

After New York, a short stint at I94 in Honolulu as PD (the most miserable job of my career), and then got into station ownership with both KISS-FM in St. Cloud, MN (my home state), and KZPK in Paynesville/St. Cloud. Upon divesting, I did mornings at the brand-new KFAN (sports-talk), in the Twin Cities, and also worked later at KOOL-108 and KS95. Since then I have owned my own marketing company, based in the Twin Cities."

"I am still married to my wife, Pam, who I met at Robicanti’s in Tampa, for 23 years. Our daughter Katie and son Pete are now 22 and 21."
