Where Are They Now?

Nikki Cruz

Nikki Cruz started her entertainment career on television as a sophomore in high school.  Cruz is an ex-military brat, and her father was stationed in Seoul, South Korea when she was a teenager.  She first appeared as a singer and dancer on a hit TV show called "Young Parade" on KBS.   When she turned 18, Cruz moved to San Antonio, Texas to attend college.   While enrolled in her school's mass communication program, she began working at radio station KSSR, hosting the evening show "San Antonio After Dark."  Since radio did not pay very well, Cruz supplemented her income by modeling for  companies such as Lee Jeans, Jindo Fur, and Miller Beer.  Cruz was featured in several national commercials and calendars to include "Radio Girls" in 1998.

In 1999, Cruz moved to Tampa and became a traffic reporter for WFLA TV, News Channel 8.  She has also worked for WMOR, More TV 32 as the host of "Chick Flicks."   Her long list of radio station gigs in Tampa include WSSR, WMTX, and WSJT.  Nikki Cruz is the newest member of the "Mason and Bill" morning show on WRBQ, Q105.  Her news updates can be heard weekday mornings 5:30 am to 10 am.

Nikki Cruz has a Bachelor's degree in psychology, and is currently attending graduate school for her Master's degree in mental health counseling, with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy.  Cruz says her heart belongs to radio; however, her brain belongs in school.  She plans to obtain a Doctorate's degree in psychology when she graduates next year.
