Where Are They Now?

Nancy Alexander

What a story, I remember her being an 18 year old, trying desperately to find a niche in radio, that was back at WNSI, or News One as they called it. It did not take Nancy long to make the trip to Q105 where she and Arch Deal flew around the Bay bringing us the latest traffic reports. The birth of “Nancy In The Sky”.

Nancy came down from the plane and into the booth to work with Cleveland Wheeler in the later days of the Q Morning Zoo, and even teamed with Wheeler at the radio station in Houston, TX, doing morning drive after the demise of the Q Zoo.

In the early 90's, Nancy had a stint as the third wheel on the bob and Judd Show at WUSA FM 101, it was not the hilite of her career, and working with Judd Otis proved to be less than great chemistry. The two did not hit it off.

Nancy found work at WTVT, the Fox outlet in Tampa Bay, and was an instant smash hit. Not only could her quit wit be appreciated, but her beauty added to the total package. Not long after landing at Fox 13, Nancy was added to the morning show at MIX 100.7 where she teams up with fellow Q105 alum Mike Reeves every morning from 6-10.

Last year she was a serious candidate to replace Kathy Lee Gifford as co host to Regis. She did great in the tryouts, and in the opinion of many of the experts, should have gotten the role.

Truly a great entertainer. Married to comedian Ward Smith, they have a family.
