Mel Tinney

Mel was a jock in the bay area from the mid 60s through the early 70s. He worked at WILZ in St Pete Beach and later at WCWR in its last days.

Mel was blessed with a great set of pipes and a great sense of humor. He was a great entertainer and always had a blast while doing his show, his energy came through loud and clear. A true professional.

Mel got out of the radio business shortly after his best friend George Gainey (Frank Scott) committed suicide in 1970.
