Jul
Tate
Hometown: Webster, New York
College: HCC -- then I found radio and my college
career
abruptly ended.
Jul started in the business in 1995 as an
intern at 98 Rock's morning show with, Lee Daniels, Marla Stone,
Harrison
Dangler and Bob Gnarly. After a year of that she went to Metro
Traffic, then began jocking part time at the Sarasota Rock
station, 105.9 WYNF. In 1998 she made the transition to Airwatch
America
-- now known as Clear Channel Traffic. Tate has also DJ'd
Saturday mornings on Thunder 103.5. For the past few years she has been doing
various voice work around Tampa Bay and Orlando. Which in fact,
she would like to add, that her fees are reasonable, for those
who need a strong female voice.
Jul says "I've played in a few rock bands,
anywhere from emo-pop to death metal, contributed work to numerous
albums by other artists and have written songs for my own solo
creation."
Current position: Early morning traffic reporter
on AM Tampa Bay Morning Drive before Gary McHenry wakes up.
Career Hi-light: She says "Having the opportunity
to meet and work with so many interesting and talented people.
Also, jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet rocked!!! An exhilarating
stunt, for the morning show I was interning for. Here's some
advice for those young, aspiring, radio people: Just do it!"
