'Lutz' Ritter
One of the most talented
musician-song writers ever to come out of Tampa Bay, this graduate
of Northeast High School in St Petersburg has quite a few credits
to his long line of successes.
John Ritter, Masters Degree in Speech pathology
from USF, wrote the theme for the original Q Zoo at Q105.
Cleveland, Shannon, Brooks & Tedd Webb, Billy Bob Finley,
Johnson the maintenance man, Ron Mantone, TJ Rainwater, Leroy
Deveroe and Bud Coontz from Lutz, Good morning from the Q Morning
Zoo, waking up with folks like you... Who can ever forget
those golden days of radio in Tampa Bay.
John earned his nick name John Lutz
Ritter after penning and recording the local hit In Beautiful
Downtown Lutz. That song got quite a bit of airplay on Q105
and other stations. John also wrote the Bucs fight song Hey
Hey hey Were The Buccaneers. He did many variations
of the song to accommodate every opponent on the Bucs schedule.
John owns a 24 track studio where he continues
to write and produce songs. He has recorded with Warner Brothers
and RCA records, and co produced with Anita Pointer of the Pointer
Sisters. He hosted mornings on Country Q105 for 6 years with Ken
Cooper, and is now the host of WQYK s The Rise Up
Show Sunday mornings from 6-10 AM.
