Jeremy "Pike" Peterson
Born and raised in
the nasty cold of Northern, Wisconsin, Jeremy Pyke Peterson
came from the edges of the high mountaintops into the radio
spotlight, and has taken the airwaves across the country by
storm. His electric voice and eclectic personality makes for
exciting radio, and his demeanor makes listeners a part of
his experience. His style of radio has taken major markets
and turned them upside down.
Immediately after graduating high school,
Pyke moved to the slopes of Colorado, competing as a semi pro
snowboarder. He received accolades for his achievements on the
mountains, and left his mark in the Colorado Rockies. His longing
for the radio airwaves brought him back to the Midwest, where
he became the van driver for a local radio station in Minneapolis,
MN. Pyke was brought under the wing of a young on-air jockey
named Cane, whose face can now be seen on VH1, and throughout
major advertisement billboards across the country as well as
doing afternoons on WXRK (KROCK). For two years, Pyke produced
and costarred in Canes radio show, which landed the young
star a gig at WHTZ-FM (Z100) in New York City.
With the #1 market under his belt, Pyke began
to work overnights among many other duties to the station, and
his loyal fan base began to develop. Pyke stayed in the big apple,
but changed formats, going from top 40 to the hard rock and alternative
WXRK (KROCK) as the late night and overnight personality, leaving
the station and waving goodbye just as Howard Stern would be
walking in to start his morning show. Pykes next move was
to WMRQ (Radio 104) in Hartford, CT, where he took over the highlighted
primetime spot. His on-air abilities allowed him to take his
show to # 1 in the market. His hard work and dedication to the
airwaves landed him a gig at WKSC (KISS) in Chicago, where he
is back at Top 40.Back to Gotham city doing swing at WXRK (KROCK).
Now landing a Morning show gig at WSSR (Star 95.7) in Tampa and
in a market that is destined to take this rising star to the
next level.
An avid extreme sports opportunist, Pyke
spends his free time on boards, whether its snow, skate, surf
or wake. His love for the open air and high risks allows him
ample ability on his mountain bike. With many of todays
Disc Jockeys crossing into new territory on the television, in
film, and beyond, Pyke brings the kind of spirit, tenability
and exuberance that will make all tangents of media soar.
March 2004 Update:
PIKE is no longer employed by Star 95.5 as they switched formats
and became known as "The Beat ". |
