Jack
Ellery
Jack Ellery with WFLA circa 1986-89. Left
Tampa to return to his beloved New Jersey. After stints in
New Jersey and New York City, Ellery retired from radio.
Ellery decided to become his own boss and
considered a profession. His wife urged law school. Jack says "I'd
have graduated at age 90, so I chose real estate." He
also states "It's fun, with great bucks, and no stupid
Program Directors to suck up to."
He and 'the lovely Miss Shelby' plus their
West Highland Terrier, 'Bumsky' now languish in their "too
big, too expensive and too much damn grass to cut" mansion
between New Jersey and Philadelphia.
In January 2003, Jack wrote "I un-retired
3 months ago when WCTC, NJ, where I spent most of my life,
called. "Would I come back?" Well, I thought it over
thoroughly, for about 30 seconds, and said YES. They fired
me eight years ago because, I guess, I got stupid. Now, it
seems, I'm unstupid... Go figure!"
"I love it... I have no ambitions for
NY or Philly, anymore. I'm a Jersey guy, do or die. I'm a Springsteen
fan, a Sopranos fan, a Jets fan and a Rutgers fan."
