Where Are They Now?

Frank Scott

Frank Scott was the creation of George Gainey, a tremendously funny character who had more fun being on the radio than anyone I knew. He loved it. He was the mid day jock at Oldies WCWR in 1969 and 1970.

The joy George had on the air was to mask the depression that followed his. He was a complex individual, loved to make others laugh, but he could not make himself laugh.

Sadly this gregarious man took his life in a very methodical way in 1976. George started a bar-b-que pit fire in his house, laid down on the bed and went to sleep forever. The fumes killed him.

His passing left a huge void in the hearts of those who worked with him. “Uncle Frank” as he loved to be called, was a great entertainer.
