Where Are They Now?

Ethan Youker

Ethan Youker is from a small farm town in Upstate NY that couldn't contain his anarchic ideals or his personality, so he broke out and moved to the state capital of Albany to attend broadcasting school at The New School of Radio & Television. Graduating in the fall of 2000, Ethan got his start fetching coffee and answering phones as the Assistant Producer of "The Wakin' Up With The Wolf Show" on heritage Classic Rocker PYX 106 (WPYX) Albany, NY.

Moving up to Executive Producer within two years, Ethan crafted his signature characters on The Wolf Show, most notably "Angry Ethan" on "Ethan's Pissed Off Report" which was featured on several Wolf Holiday CD's and even appeared on a national compilation of the "Best Radio Bits". Ethan took over the Co-host role in March of 2006.

In August of the same year, the "Mighty 98ROCK" (WXTB) in Tampa, FL came calling and Ethan moved to the Bay, joining the brand new "BS (Buckethead Show)" as Co-Host/Executive Producer which took over morning drive on 98ROCK and was rebroadcast during afternoon drive on WJRR Orlando. Ethan brought many creative bit ideas to The BS (including "What'd That Bitch Say?"; "Color Me Guilty"; "Extreme Blindfold Execution-Style Turkey Dodgeball"; "Marco-Flow-Bee" and many others).

The BS were disbanded in June 0f 2008 and Ethan became the Morning Host on WXTB. After a brief hiatus from radio between January 2009 – August 2010, Ethan worked as the Special Events, Promotions and Entertainment Coordinator at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. Ethan returned to radio in September 2010 as the Assistant Program Director of Newsradio 970 WFLA and Executive Producer of the legendary "AM Tampa Bay" with Jack Harris and Tedd Webb.

In his free time Ethan enjoys reading (Kurt Vonnegut and Stephen King are favorites), writing short stories, poetry and comedy, listening to punk and metal, bothering his wife and getting drunk & disorderly. His favorite quote, reflecting his impetuous "live in the moment" nature is: "Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride." – Hunter S. Thompson.
