Where Are They Now?

Diane Baskovich Thomas

Known only as "Diane" when on the air, Diane Baskovich, a beautiful Greek-Serbian mix from Clearwater began relieving Tony Zappone in the afternoons, doing traffic reports on WFLA Radio in 1975. Soon, program director Rod Weller asked if she liked to stay up late at night... and gave her the midnight shift, spinning records on WFLA-AM, relieving the up-and-coming Gary McHenry and making way for the legendary Jack Harris at 6 a.m.

Diane's soft and comforting voice became a popular draw for the station at those odd hours, showing good numbers in ratings and translating into additional income for the station. It wasn't long before she was asked to do commercial voice-overs for a number of advertising clients and went on to do TV for the former Maas Brothers Department Store and others.

Diane eventually left the radio and TV venue to pursue a career in music. She began singing and traveling the U.S. with a popular show band, whose leader/drummer, Terry Thomas, would soon become her husband. They also toured as "The Union Gap" and later with their own oldies and variety show band, "Night Shift".

Currently, Diane lives in north Florida with Terry, now a minister, and their daughters, Tiffany and Theresa. Their passion for music continues and involves their entire family through their praise & worship band. For more info, go to www.evangelpalmcoast.com
