Chris
Thomas
This man is a terrific listen. A New Jersey
native who has graduated from South Carolina and went into TV.
His stops include Baltimore and Tampa Bay, he was a big hit in
both.
Chris Thomas started his sports talk show
at Newsradio 970 WFLA in the mid 90s, and also co hosted Monday
Night Football with Tedd Webb and Jimmy Badolato (Vegas) at the
Yucatan Liquor Stand in Tampa during the late 90s.
He moved to 620 WDAE The Sports Animal in
1999, and has been a stellar performer in their lineup. Chris
was the 6 and 11 PM Sports Anchor at WFLA TV before the purge
of Sportscasters in Tampa Bay. His style is one few can imitate,
and none can duplicate. He is sassy, and quick witted.
Chris Thomas knows quite a bit about the ponies,
and bought a couple a few years back. Chris is the Managing General
Partner of CT Stable LLC. One of his horses, Super Fuse is a
real contender. Look for Chris Thomas to be making big news in
horse racing. It’s his dream, it’s his passion.
Truly one of the most talented men walking
among us.
Update -- Feb 19th, 2004
Chris Thomas died of complications from Pancreatic Cancer
February 19th, 2004 at UCH in Tampa.
We have lost a fearless warrior. This man
spoke his mind with no fear of reprisal. Chris Thomas,
tough guy, big heart, loving father.
Chris fought a gallant battle against the dreaded pancreatic
cancer, and he fought hard. In one of his last emails to me he
said "Most of my life.... other than getting lost in my
wonderful fantasy world at WDAE each morning has been reduced
to doctor and hospital visits, chemo injections which leave me
totally punked and without much energy for anything else. Not
trying to sound grim. It is what it is and my attitude
remains positive and my prayers as humble as can be in front
of our Maker. As that chemo goes in me, I close my eyes
and play a chemo version of pac man... little soliders chewing
up Satan's work on damaged cells and making me better. Seems
silly I suppose, but not to me. Hell Teddy. You've been
there done that in your own way. Faith is a wonderful thing."
Chris Thomas had plenty of faith. He fought hard to live for
one reason. From his last email he wrote "I'm on the Chris
Thomas/Ted Webb Life Reduction Program. Very simple. Go
to bed. Thank God for the day. Wake up. Thank
Him for that and enjoy the day to your absolute ability. Go
to bed... etcetera etcetera. And so... how can I
be anything but happy if, on Christmas morning, I can sit and
watch Kaitlyn open her packages? Just being with her any
day is a blessing and my sole selfish reason for asking God for
tomorrow. Merry Christmas my friend..
C.T. "
We love you Chris, and we are going to miss
you dearly.
