Chary Southmayd

One of the stars of the powerful Q105 flame thrower. Chary went to work at Q105 in 1988 doing afternoon news for Mason Dixon. She worked with Roger Schulman, Pat Brooks, Cleveland Wheeler, Bill Connolly, Nancy Alexander, Arch Deal, Tramonte Watts, Steve Austin, Ronnie Night Train Lane and others.

Prior to her Q105 days Chary worked at Magic 96 in 1982 with the late great Scott Robbins, John Lanigan, & Marvelous Marvin. Chary left in 1985 to head to Orlando to work with Al Gardner and Bill Gable at Cool 105.9.

Born in Washington DC, Chary started in radio in 1978 at WAKY in Louisville, Kentucky. She has also worked at WOCL and Star 101 in Orlando. She got the radio bug from her father who was an FCC attorney in the DC area.

Chary has switched to the printed word, is editor of The Bellaire Bee and Entertainment Extra – Tampa Bay Newspapers - owned publications.
