Charlie Champion

Charlie worked at WAZE, WQXM as PD, WSUN - mornings, WWBA & WYOU - mornings while in the Tampa area.

Charlie was a very successful in Top 40 programming in Knoxville & Chattanooga before coming to Tampa.

He was PD in Louisville in 1974-1975 (which is where the picture was taken) at WQHI.

He went to California and worked at KACY in Oxnard, KOTE in Lancaster and his last job was at KAVL AM/FM in Lancaster as General Manager/Morning Personality.

He also did some bit parts in a couple of movies here and there.

He passed away in 1989, heart attack in his sleep. One of the truly nice men in this profession, he always had time for everyone. As funny as they come, with an infectious laugh that will always bring a smile to my face.
