Joe
Voskerichian
JOE V as he is called by his many friends and
admirers is a true tribute to Tampa. He came down when stationed
in the Air Force at MacDill AFB. He met Annie Pupello, stayed
and the rest is history.
The native of Buffalo New York was called “The
Armenian Antelope” because of his speed. A great athlete
who excelled in football and baseball, Joe set the standards when
playing. A true gentleman both on and off the field.
Joe has accumulated so many awards during his
time in Tampa, too many to name. He is a true mover and shaker,
a man who has made many great things happen in Tampa.
Joe was not only a great ref and umpire, but
was also an outstanding coach of youngsters.
Joe spent 11 years working with the Tampa Police
Department, and later went to work for Nations Bank where he gave
them a terrific presence on the community and soon was promoted
to Director of Community Relations. Joe V also has been the Executive
Director of the Gold Shield Foundation for several years,
He lives in Tampa with his wife Ann. They have
3 children and many grand children. He is still very active in
his beloved community, and is now enshrined in “Tampa Bay
Legends”. |
